GWAP Camp 2017

How it works!

So we started this awesome adventure of having camp 4 years ago and it has been a blessing!

This year we have extended camp to 4 1/2 days-  July 25-29th.  The first night parents come to drop off kiddos and make sure they have their releases signed at 7pm.  At 8pm we will have what we call an expectation talk and watch last years video, parents are welcome to stay for that.  After making the rules and expectations clear we will get the beds ready, have a devotional time and go to bed.

Each day we will wake to some great tunes!  ;)  And get going on our quest to know Jesus better.  This year's camp is about having a biblical worldview and what that looks like daily.  Our theme verse is Matthew 7:24, "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock."

In that we will look at some people who are truly living out a biblical worldview and we will also fast through lunch and pray for specific countries on Thursday.  We will learn the biblical reasons for fasting and hopefully demonstrate the power and the blessing of sacrifice for others.  We will explore biblical principles for living daily lives that are different than the rest of our culture and how to think of cultural issues from a biblical and holy standpoint.  Issues such as homosexuality (as appropriate), drinking alcohol, gambling, cussing, dating, modest dress, gossip, judging sin, and anger as they are steadily in contact with these things in our culture.  We will attempt to see God's ways on these issues as we look at His word.

The girls will need to bring bedding as they will be sleeping on foam tiles on the floor.  They will need showering towels, a swim towel, modest swimwear (they can wear t-shirt and shorts over if they don't have anything else), modest camp clothes for activities (nothing fancy), toiletries, sunscreen, bug spray, and of course their bibles.  They will not be able to keep their cell phones during camp because they are a distraction and a dangerous temptation.

Saturday parents will come at 4pm to see a skit, some singing and some other things they learned while at camp.  Everything comes to and end at 5pm Saturday.

They will have a camp goodie bag to take home with them with their crafts and fun memories of camp!

Things are heating up and camp is getting close, so get signed up and get ready to allow the Lord to have His way in your life!!

Here's a glimpse of last year's awesomeness!!
